Wow does this bring back memories! We used to go camping quite a bit when I was growing up and when my own children were small. Dump cake was a staple! I’ve never tried pumpkin, but I’ll bet it’s yummy! I’ll be trying it this weekend and let you know!

I love dump cakes but never tried a pumpkin one! I love pumpkin and I’m making this as soon as I get to the store and get a can of pumpkin!
Thank you!

Oh Yum! I love simple recipes, that require little preparation, but are the most tasty.

Betty,
I’m not going to lie. I don’t make desserts very well-not even following a recipe. Although this one looks relatively simple, I believe I would still mess it up

Yum! I love “pumpkin anything,” and this recipe looks like a winner. We’ve had early autumn breezes in the Sacramento Area over the past few days, and between that and this pumpkin recipe, I am getting in the mood for my favorite season. Thanks for the tasty ambience!

I never heard of a dump cake, but I am sending this one to my Mom and sister, and hope that they make it for me. I LOVE pumpkin, and it is really good for you.
Thank you, Betty!

Hi Betty,
I am curious to know where the term “dump cake” comes from…I have never heard of it. I admit to not being much for baking, but this sounds yummy, especially with the fall season upon us…will you bake it for me…LOL!

Hi Claudia,
Every time I see a recipe for a “dump” cake, there are two ingredients that are the same. The top is covered with a dry cake mix and drizzled with butter. This is is just a guess, but you basically dump it into the pan and bake. Very simple and easy to make. Another tip, You can use any type of fruit filling to make this cake. Peach Pie filling makes a wonderful cobbler type dessert.
I would love to bake you a dump cake! When shall I expect you?
Blessings,
Betty
